Task 2 | Content Generation
Following this, I dive into the visual planning for my project by putting together a moodboard to spark inspiration. I focused on selecting typefaces and color schemes, and I also created some initial sketches for the story’s illustrations.
I envisioned a subtle, dreamlike quality for the visuals, aiming to capture the mood and depth of the story. To enhance the emotional undertones, I incorporated a contrasting blue using it sparingly to highlight moments of introspection and to evoke a sense of calm or melancholy where needed. All the illustrations were created in Procreate on an A4 canvas, chosen specifically to fit seamlessly into the book’s dimensions (however it has to be smaller than A3).
Working at this size allowed me to focus on fine details while ensuring the artwork would translate well in print. To guide my process, I began with a moodboard to set the tone, gathering inspiration for colors, textures, and overall style. I also developed a color palette that blended soft, muted tones with occasional pops of contrast, adding depth without overpowering the story’s gentle atmosphere. I experimented with rough sketches to establish the composition and pacing of each illustration.
These initial drafts helped me capture key moments, balancing light and shadow to support the story’s narrative flow. As I refined each piece, I focused on creating continuity between frames, ensuring the illustrations would feel interconnected while each held its own emotional weight.

Experience:
Task 2 was a profound learning experience that allowed me to delve deeply into storytelling through the lens of sibling relationships. Starting with an initial draft, I focused on building a narrative that was both emotionally resonant and structurally sound. However, the process was more challenging than expected. Personal setbacks, including the passing of a loved one, created emotional and time constraints that made it difficult to stay inspired. Despite these challenges, I was determined to complete the project, and in doing so, I learned the value of resilience and adaptability in creative work, although, in my opinion, I could have done better if I had a sound mind during my challenges and I wish to recreate a new one during my semester break.
Observation:
Throughout this task, I observed the importance of cohesion between the written story and its accompanying visuals. Each illustration had to do more than just support the narrative it needed to actively enhance the emotional tone and meaning of the story. I also noted how the placement and sequence of visuals could guide the reader's emotional journey, creating a rhythm and flow that matched the story’s arc. Additionally, I realized that a consistent style across both text and imagery was essential to creating a unified, harmonious final product.
Findings: One of the most significant findings was the powerful role of visual storytelling when integrated thoughtfully with text. The combination of words and images, when done well, amplifies emotional impact and creates a more immersive experience for the reader. I learned how color choices and composition influence the mood and emotional impact of each scene. For instance, using contrasting colors or specific tones helped emphasize emotional moments, guiding the reader’s response to the story This task has also made me adapt to unexpected challenges. Working through personal difficulties taught me how to tap into resilience, which ultimately strengthened my creative process. I found that sometimes creativity comes from perseverance rather than inspiration.
