Feedback
Week 14:
Specific Feedback: Don’t include problem statement because it’s too wordy as well as no need to justify the questions just keep it general but separate each section and simplify
Week 13:
Specific Feedback: Good responses from the participants, there are qualitative answers and lengthy ones, however keep the survey open.
Week 12:
Specific Feedback: Keep the survey open and currently at 36 participants, make sure to share to more people to reach 80 participants.
Week 11:
Specific Feedback: Consultation on the survey and adjustment needed.
Week 10:
Specific Feedback: Good questions but include better images and put them into collages to help respondents to understand the visuals that we are focusing on. Include more “why’s” to the question to avoid generic answers.
Week 9:
Specific Feedback: The questions has to align with my RO’s and RQ’s, and include citations for factual data included in the research questions, especially the target audience for Starbucks. Keep working on the questions and finalise them.
Week 7:
General Feedback:
Make sure to include the target audience, specific age group, and a specific group or larger group depending in what you are specifically researching on they have high usage more engagement and able to gather more dat. Always justify the questions and make sure it is related to your research problem (Ex: want to ask participants: from the list, please choose the two most important visual elements:
Week 7:
General Feedback: Include the target audience, a certain age range, and perhaps a smaller or bigger group, depending on the topic of your research.
Specific Feedback: Revisit the research questions to ensure they are aligned with the research problem and to be more explicit about what you're looking at so that the research method can be better identified and to justify each of your actions for a more complete understanding of your approach.
Week 6:
General Feedback: Make sure there are citations on each critical evaluation of the article (APA Formate) and avoid writing in the first person (instead, "the researcher stated etc"), especially if you wish to include a fact in your assertion.
Specific Feedback: Ensure that the summary of your critical review is concise while incorporating all essential elements. It's crucial to be direct and encompass the vital points and identifications you discovered within the article.
Week 5:
General Feedback: Public Holiday (Maulidur Rasul)
Specific Feedback: No specific feedback
Week 4:
General Feedback: (Rewatched the class recording) Improve the consistency of your writing, especially when relating it to your research problem. Be careful not to use generalisations that have nothing to do with the subject of your research.
Specific Feedback: Absent due to covid-19
Week 3:
General Feedback: Be more niche and understand your research problem to be able to explain what we are researching on
Specific Feedback: Rephrase research inquiries and delve into articles and scholarly papers that explore the factors driving and consequences of graphic design choices in restaurant settings as well as gathering data through observation conducted at a specific restaurant or from a credible paper.
Reflection
Observation: Noticing my peers struggle a lot with research techniques, including citations and accessing credible sources, was the common struggle faced among my peers. Despite creative minds having a short attention span for academic writing, mutual assistance prevailed. Progressing through my research, I discovered it enhanced my ability to articulate and explain design works coherently. This realization underscored the importance of not only creativity but also critical thinking, thorough research, and an understanding of psychology in design.
Findings: In design research methodology, justifications are crucial. Articulating the reasons behind decisions is vital for keeping minds active and communicating work effectively. This understanding facilitates quicker decision-making and a more comprehensive grasp of the purpose and reasoning behind the work.
